Our Story

We have been providing electrical and other services since 1986 when Steve Sullivan founded Carry the Light Electric. As our offerings expanded so did our name. With the addition of new team specialist, we created a separate division to focus on audio, video, lighting, automation, and shading called CTL-AVL (Carry the Light Audio Video Lighting). The response from clients, contractors, and other trade partners was overwhelming. They loved the idea of a single contactor to handle all their wiring needs. As one contractor said, ” One hand to shake, and one throat to choak.”

To help reduce the confusion with the different names, we now primarily operate under the name CTL Companies.

The goal of CTL Companies is to be your trusted single source for all your wiring needs in both residential and commercial projects, and to create authentic partnerships.
